Senior HSSE Specialist – Safety & Compliance

About the role

Qualus is seeking a Senior HSSE Specialist to lead safety initiatives for a power‑plant construction project. The role involves administering safety programs on‑site, ensuring regulatory compliance, and continuously improving processes to support business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze reports for various safety programs and meet legal reporting requirements.
• Research regulatory changes (federal and state) and advise on compliance with company policies.
• Stop work when unsafe practices or conditions are identified.
• Assist in investigating safety incidents and develop preventive procedures.
• Provide safety and health services, including training, to internal customer groups.
• Serve as technical advisor for safety committees and conduct safety awareness presentations for external audiences.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Minimum of 7 years experience working at a power plant.
• OSHA certification.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
