Senior GL Accountant – Lebanon

About the role

The Senior GL Accountant will maintain high‑quality general accounting and financial reporting for Lebanon. The role ensures accurate GL records, timely reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end close activities and supports both management and statutory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly classified, supported and posted to the appropriate account, cost centre, project and analytic dimension.
• Prepare recurring, accrual, pre‑payment, depreciation, provision, re‑classification and adjustment journals with full documentation.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate and clear reconciling items promptly.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing, meeting the approved close timetable.
• Record and reconcile inter‑company transactions, including foreign‑currency balances and settlement differences.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, IFRS requirements and local statutory rules.
• Review work of junior accountants, provide technical guidance and act as escalation point for complex issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional accounting certification (IFRS) is mandatory.
• 5–8+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent professional English; Arabic advantageous.
• Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations and internal controls.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Power Query and Power Pivot.
• Tableau or similar reporting tools.
• Odoo ERP (or similar ERP systems).
• SAP (desirable).
