Senior Associate – Mergers & Acquisitions

About the role

Handle complex legal transactions related to mergers, acquisitions and commercial matters while assisting the Partner in delivering optimal legal services in line with the Firm’s policies and Code of Ethics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage assigned cases from conception to finalisation under the supervision of the Partner.
• Review case details and address any gaps in information or instructions promptly.
• Conduct legal research to gather evidence and provide sound legal opinions and technical advice to clients.
• Negotiate, draft and review complex legal documentation related to mergers, acquisitions and commercial cases.
• Review documentation produced by Associates and Paralegal team for accuracy, relevance and alignment with firm standards.
• Record billable hours daily and ensure they align with contractual terms to support timely invoicing.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance the firm’s reputation and brand image.
• Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities for the firm’s services with existing clients.
• Collaborate with Business Development to pursue additional revenue‑generating opportunities.
• Coach, mentor and support Associates and Paralegal team members for on‑the‑job learning.
• Assist in developing new proposals and recovering outstanding invoices as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• Minimum of 6 years post‑qualification experience in mergers, acquisitions and commercial transactions.
• Experience gained at a top US, UK or regional law firm.
• Significant exposure to high‑profile deals from inception through completion and post‑completion.
