Senior Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accounts Payable Accountant ensures timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and vendor payments while supporting strong financial controls. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and an outsourced accounting service provider to maintain an efficient procure‑to‑pay process.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end accounts payable process, guaranteeing invoices are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Review supplier invoices for completeness, proper approvals, and policy compliance.
• Prepare and reconcile vendor statements, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Coordinate payment runs and support cash‑flow planning by monitoring due dates.
• Maintain accurate vendor master data and assist with vendor onboarding.
• Monitor purchase order, goods receipt, and invoice matching, escalating exceptions as needed.
• Collaborate with the outsourced accounting service provider to ensure timely AP processing.
• Support month‑end close activities, including AP reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
• Assist external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to AP processes, controls, and system efficiencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience in a multinational or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
