Senior Accountant

About the role

A client based in Lebanon is looking for a Senior Accountant to lead accounting operations, financial reporting and compliance. The role is full‑time, on‑site in Beirut with occasional travel, including trips to Africa, to support international financial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, general ledger, journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with Lebanese accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Assist internal and external auditors and resolve audit findings.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including senior‑level responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, general ledger management and reconciliations.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and variance analysis.
• Good understanding of Lebanese tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to maintain accurate financial records and support audit processes.
