Senior Accountant

About the role

Murex is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations in Lebanon. You will ensure accurate financial records, timely statutory reporting, and full compliance with local tax and social security regulations while supporting month‑end and year‑end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier payments, manage accounts payable, and reconcile supplier statements.
• Oversee petty cash, review travel expense reports, and handle employee reimbursements.
• Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Prepare Lebanese statutory declarations (VAT, CIT, NRT, NSSF) and ensure timely tax payments.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules and documentation.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4‑6 years of experience as a Senior Accountant.
• Proven experience with Lebanese tax and NSSF declarations.
• Strong knowledge of Lebanese accounting and tax regulations.
• Experience in an international or multi‑site organization is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (Sage X3 or equivalent preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
