Roadworks Estimating Engineer

About the role

The Roadworks Estimating Engineer supports the overseas office by delivering accurate quantity take‑offs, bills of quantities and tender pricing for road construction packages. Based in the CET Lebanon office, the role works closely with the international tendering team to meet strict submission deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity take‑offs from civil design drawings for earthworks, subgrade, pavement layers and surfacing.
• Measure stormwater drainage networks, including pits, pipes, headwalls and connections to existing infrastructure.
• Prepare structured, auditable bills of quantities aligned with tender schedules and international measurement conventions.
• Identify discrepancies in tender documentation and log RFIs for the overseas team.
• Support tender pricing by applying rates, production factors and crew/plant assumptions provided by the estimating team.
• Maintain version‑controlled take‑off files on SharePoint and coordinate with the overseas office during overlap hours.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in roadworks, highways or civil infrastructure estimating, quantity surveying or site engineering.
• Proven ability to read and interpret civil drawings, including plans, longitudinal sections and drainage layouts.
• Strong working knowledge of quantity take‑off calculations for earthworks and pavement layers.
• Excellent written and spoken English for communication with an international team.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (structured BOQ workbooks, lookups, roll‑ups).
• Digital take‑off tools such as Bluebeam Revu.
• Civil 3D or similar modelling software.
• 12d Model for surface and volume outputs.
