Purchasing and Forwarding Executive

About the role

The Purchasing and Forwarding Executive will manage day‑to‑day forwarding activities, ensuring customer demands are met through effective coordination with shipping lines, airlines, agents and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate and exchange pre‑alerts with all stakeholders, including shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders and customers.
• Handle administrative tasks for freight and customs operations such as bookings, order tracking, documentation, customs declarations and cash‑outlay coordination.
• Ensure timely receipt and submission of import/export documentation for air and sea shipments, including AWB, HAWB, permits, manifests, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and hazardous cargo declarations.
• Coordinate import and export freight bookings across air, sea (FCL/LCL), cross‑border trucking and inland clearance.
• Track shipments, resolve billing or shipping discrepancies and maintain communication with customers and vendors.
• Oversee import/export and cross‑border freight shipments, insurance brokers and customs clearing procedures, ensuring compliance with forwarding standards.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in freight forwarding.
• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding processes (import, export, cross‑trade, ocean, air, trucking) and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with INCOTERMS and shipping documentation.

Required skills

• Freight forwarding operations (Import/Export/Cross Trade/Ocean/Air/Trucking).
• Preparation and handling of shipping documents (AWB, HAWB, bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, hazardous cargo declaration).
• Knowledge of INCOTERMS.
