Protection Officer

About the role

The Protection Officer will provide specialised case management and psychosocial support to people at heightened risk, including women, older persons and persons with disabilities, within DRC's humanitarian programmes in Lebanon. The role involves direct counselling, referral coordination and outreach to ensure vulnerable individuals receive appropriate assistance while maintaining confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of needs and develop individual action plans for recovery.
• Provide age‑ and disability‑appropriate counselling and psychosocial support in both mobile and static safe spaces.
• Identify people at heightened risk through home visits, referrals and coordination with partners.
• Facilitate referrals to relevant services and monitor implementation of case plans.
• Maintain accurate case data in protection information management systems, ensuring compliance with data‑protection policies.
• Collaborate with DRC protection teams and external service providers to secure access to needed services.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans and reports.

Required profile

• Experience delivering case management and psychosocial support to vulnerable populations.
• Knowledge of best‑practice and international protection standards.
• Ability to work with women, older persons and persons with disabilities.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, data protection and non‑discriminatory service delivery.
