Project Associate (Shelter and Settlements)

About the role

The Project Associate will support IOM’s Shelter Core Relief Items interventions and Site Management & Coordination activities, focusing on migrant displacement units, collective sites and community engagement in Lebanon.

Key responsibilities

• Support Shelter Core Relief Items interventions, including procurement and distribution of shelter kits.
• Assist in Site Management and Coordination (SMC) activities for migrant displacement units and collective sites.
• Facilitate community engagement and liaison with local authorities, NGOs and UN agencies.
• Contribute to early recovery and stabilization activities in line with donor requirements and IOM standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field with at least three years relevant experience (or high school diploma with five years experience).
• Proven experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, IDPs or victims of trafficking.
• Background in large‑scale Core Relief Items operations and assessing collective sites for shelter interventions.
• Field experience in conflict‑affected areas of South and Nabatieh Governorates.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with data collection tools such as SPSS, Kobo Toolbox and ODK.
• Strong report‑writing and field research abilities.
