Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will oversee the end‑to‑end procurement process, ensuring all purchasing activities comply with ABC’s policies and guidelines. Working closely with the Procurement Manager, the role coordinates supplier relationships, evaluates offers, and guarantees timely delivery of goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct purchases in line with ABC purchasing policies and maintain accurate purchase orders.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and achieve cost‑saving opportunities while meeting specifications.
• Prepare, follow up, and ensure delivery of purchase orders; verify received items against orders for price, quantity and quality.
• Maintain and update supplier contracts, agreements and the internal vendor tracking table.
• Perform bi‑annual market reviews to benchmark prices and develop action plans.
• Track non‑conforming products on SharePoint and coordinate corrective actions with the Procurement Manager.
• Generate monthly reports on cost effectiveness, price escalation, consumption versus budget, and other key metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience with a proven track record.
• Strong communication, flexibility, customer focus, results orientation and accountability as described in the competency list.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement database/software for item, price and specification management.
• Experience using SharePoint for tracking non‑conforming product reports.
