Procurement Manager – Parts Acquisition & Vendor Management

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead the end‑to‑end acquisition of technical parts, ensuring cost‑efficiency, technical accuracy, and timely updates to the inventory system. Acting as the bridge between field technicians, dispatchers, and suppliers, the role aims to minimise equipment downtime and optimise operational spend in a fast‑paced facility‑management environment.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and verify part specifications and component compatibility before quotes are submitted or orders are processed.
• Source parts across vendor networks to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality.
• Coordinate directly with field technicians and dispatchers to confirm part requirements and job specifications.
• Track shipment statuses, monitor estimated times of arrival, and manage tracking documentation.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records within the inventory management system.
• Review technician field assessments to identify, locate, and source required repair components.
• Guide dispatchers when field assessments lack detail by identifying needed information such as data plates, equipment makes, and model numbers.
• Engage directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers when parts are unavailable through standard retail distribution.
• Manage component obsolescence by researching and verifying technical “like‑for‑like” replacements.

Required profile

• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Previous experience in procurement, technical parts sourcing, inventory management, or supply‑chain operations.
• Strong technical aptitude to verify equipment specifications, data plates, and component details.
• Excellent vendor management and negotiation abilities.
• Strong organisational, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills under tight timelines.
• High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills for cross‑departmental collaboration.
