Postdoctoral Research Position in Learning Analytics and Innovation

About the role

The Lebanese American University seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to advance evidence‑based teaching and learning across science, medicine, engineering, and business. The role focuses on learning analytics, educational technology, and immersive virtual reality to design, implement, and evaluate pedagogical innovations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate research activities across participating schools.
• Assist with study design, data collection, and project implementation.
• Develop and manage learning analytics datasets and dashboards.
• Support deployment and evaluation of VR‑enhanced learning activities.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses.
• Prepare ethics (IRB) documentation and maintain research compliance.
• Assist in organizing faculty workshops and dissemination activities.
• Support grant development and future external funding initiatives.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Experience in educational research and quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
• Knowledge of learning management systems and learning analytics.
• Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, SPSS, or similar tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with virtual reality (VR), simulation‑based education, or immersive learning technologies is a plus.
• Experience in higher education teaching and curriculum development.
