Planning Engineer – Hotel Project (Libya)

About the role

The Planning Engineer will lead the development and control of the construction programme for a high‑end hotel project in Libya. Working closely with the Project Manager, technical office and site teams, you will ensure that all design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities are accurately scheduled and aligned with project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain the baseline programme using Primavera P6 or MS Project, covering shop drawings, material submittals, procurement, logistics, civil, structural, MEP, architectural works and fit‑out activities.
• Develop detailed WBS, activity coding, logic links and perform critical‑path analysis.
• Integrate daily/weekly site progress, produce look‑ahead schedules (1‑4 weeks) and monitor civil, MEP and finishing works.
• Prepare procurement schedules for MEP equipment, façade systems, specialist hotel systems (BMS, AV, security) and high‑end finishes.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning programmes, track inspection requests and manage hand‑over documentation.
• Identify delays, propose mitigation actions and support claims, variations and EOT submissions.
• Generate weekly/monthly progress reports, KPI dashboards, delay analysis and recovery schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in large‑scale, multidisciplinary construction projects.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex schedules.
