Part‑Time Faculty – AI & Digital Literacy

About the role

The Lebanese American University seeks a part‑time faculty member to teach Artificial Intelligence and Digital Literacy to non‑specialist undergraduate students. The position will be based on either the Beirut or Byblos campus, depending on scheduling needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses covering AI fundamentals, digital tools, and their ethical, cultural, and social implications.
• Design and update curriculum materials that integrate hands‑on, experiential learning.
• Engage students in critical discussions about emerging technologies and sustainable development goals.
• Collaborate with department colleagues to align courses with the Liberal Arts and Sciences program.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching or professional experience in AI or digital literacy.
• Experience teaching interdisciplinary, non‑specialist undergraduate audiences.
• Strong command of English and proven communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Sensitivity to ethical and societal implications of AI technologies.

Required skills

• Solid foundation in AI/ML and data engineering.
• Familiarity with unstructured data types (text, image, audio, video) is an asset.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with data‑visualization or analytics tools such as RapidMiner, Tableau, or PowerBI.
