About the role
UNICEF is seeking a National Consultant to support its Social Policy section in Lebanon for a ten‑month assignment. The consultant will work from home and office, providing analytical and policy inputs that translate into actionable recommendations for improving investments targeting vulnerable children.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse public and social policy data, including public expenditure, fiscal and macro‑economic trends.
- Develop policy briefs and recommendations aligned with UNICEF’s equity and child‑rights mandate.
- Facilitate dialogue with government counterparts and development partners on policy reform and coordination.
- Contribute to the design and monitoring of Lebanon’s National Social Protection Strategy.
- Produce high‑quality analytical outputs that inform programme planning and advocacy.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in economics, public policy, social policy, development studies or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in social policy, public finance or social protection.
- Strong familiarity with Lebanon’s socio‑economic and institutional context.
- Proven experience engaging government officials and development partners in policy dialogue.
- Excellent analytical capacity in public expenditure and fiscal policy analysis.
Required skills
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Ability to conduct rigorous policy analysis and produce clear, evidence‑based recommendations.
