MEP Site Engineer

About the role

An MEP Site Engineer is sought to join the office in Verdun, Lebanon. The engineer supervises day-to-day MEP works and coordinates subcontractors and site teams so that sequencing, access, work fronts and interfaces support planned execution.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise MEP works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, electrical, ELV, lifts, generators and related building systems.
• Coordinate MEP subcontractors, site teams and other trades; escalate delays, incomplete works or resource issues to the Project Manager.
• Review shop drawings, specifications, material submittals and technical information, and coordinate MEP layouts with architectural and structural drawings to resolve clashes and shafts.
• Verify openings, sleeves and embedded items are in place before civil or concrete works proceed.
• Inspect installations against drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and quality requirements, and follow up on IRs, NCRs, defects and corrective actions.
• Check delivered equipment and materials against approved submittals before installation.
• Plan MEP activities with the master schedule and monitor progress, manpower and testing readiness.
• Prepare weekly progress updates and witness or coordinate testing and commissioning such as pressure tests, insulation tests, functional testing, start-up, balancing and snagging.
• Review closeout documentation including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and testing certificates.
• Monitor HSE, PPE, permit-to-work and housekeeping compliance and report hazards and unsafe practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of site experience in MEP execution, supervision, testing, commissioning or coordination on building projects; previous experience with a consulting company is an advantage.
• Preferred: MEP coordination, QA/QC, HSE, testing and commissioning or relevant mechanical/electrical professional training.
