Mechanical Design Engineer Manager (Department Head)

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer Manager will lead the mechanical design department of a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm. Based in Beirut, this full‑time, on‑site position oversees the delivery of high‑quality mechanical solutions for building and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, assigning workloads and reviewing designs.
• Ensure all mechanical designs and calculations comply with local and international codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, electrical, and external stakeholders to integrate multidisciplinary solutions.
• Develop and implement department procedures, support budgeting, and assist in resource planning.
• Contribute to proposals, technical reports, and the preparation of CAD/BIM deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree and professional registration are a plus).
• Proven experience leading mechanical engineering teams and managing multi‑project portfolios.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Required skills

• Mechanical Engineering design for building and infrastructure systems.
• Machine Design and Product Design of mechanical components.
• Proficiency with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) tools.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows.
• Solid knowledge of relevant international and local mechanical codes and standards.
