MCC Representative – Lebanon, Syria & Iraq Program

About the role
The MCC Representative will provide primary, in‑country leadership for the Mennonite Central Committee’s Lebanon, Syria & Iraq (LSI) program, based in Beirut. The role oversees a multidisciplinary team, manages partner relationships, and ensures compliance with local regulations while supporting humanitarian, food security, livelihoods, health, education and peacebuilding projects.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the LSI program from the Beirut office, supervising a team of approximately 15 staff members.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local churches, civil‑society partners and other stakeholders.
- Oversee program administration, budgeting, reporting and compliance with governmental requirements.
- Coordinate travel and field activities, accounting for roughly 20% travel within the LSI region.
- Ensure program activities address the needs of local and displaced populations regardless of religion or sect.
Required profile
- Minimum education: BA/BSc or equivalent.
- International experience preferred; prior MCC experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to personal Christian faith, active church participation and non‑violent peacemaking.
- Ability to build trust, support staff facing oppression or sexual violence, and model organizational values.
- Successful completion of criminal background checks.
