Major Gifts Officer – Advancement & Development

About the role

The Advancement Entity’s Development Office is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to lead frontline fundraising for the School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing and two LAU Medical Centers. The role works closely with deans, faculty, hospital leadership and physicians to secure major gifts supporting scholarships, research, clinical programs and capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the health schools and medical centers, including cultivation and solicitation of high‑net‑worth donors.
• Manage a portfolio of major‑gift prospects, conduct regular in‑person and virtual meetings, and move donors through the pipeline toward high‑value commitments.
• Prepare tailored proposals, donor briefings and stewardship materials aligned with institutional priorities.
• Collaborate with advancement communications to create impact narratives and maintain accurate records in Raiser's Edge NXT.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Biological Sciences, Healthcare or Public Health.
• Minimum four years of frontline fundraising experience, preferably in a hospital, academic or health‑related environment.
• Proven ability to engage high‑net‑worth individuals and build long‑term donor relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Raiser's Edge NXT (or similar CRM) for donor management.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
