Logistics Officer – Mission Support

About the role

The Logistics Officer supports the UNIFIL Mission Support Division and reports to the Chief Mission Support Centre. At the FS‑7 level the officer may lead a unit or functional area and supervise both international and national staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage logistics support throughout sustainment, transition, drawdown and liquidation phases.
• Oversee movement, consolidation, staging, handling and disposition of United Nations‑Owned Equipment (UNOE) and Contingent‑Owned Equipment (COE).
• Develop and maintain forward logistics movement and staging plans to ensure continuous flow and minimise congestion.
• Coordinate closely with the United Nations Global Service Centre, UN Headquarters and mission components to synchronise logistics requirements and timelines.
• Serve as focal point for integrated logistics coordination among mission support, military, engineering, transport, aviation and warehousing functions.
• Monitor logistics performance, identify bottlenecks and ensure resources are used in line with UN regulations and policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a first‑level university degree in logistics, supply‑chain management or a related field is acceptable.
• Minimum twelve years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, supply‑chain, transport, movement control or related fields, including complex field or peace‑keeping operations.
• Proven experience developing logistics plans, policies and operational guidance and supervising multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in planning and executing integrated logistics during drawdown or liquidation of UN missions is desirable.
• Fluency in English at UN Level II (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
