Jira Developer

About the role

An experienced Jira Developer is sought in Beirut to support enterprise-level Jira administration, configuration, development and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud, a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, and the ability to assess existing Jira environments, optimise configurations and support migrations from Data Center to Cloud. The role works closely with technical teams, Jira administrators and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assess existing Jira Data Center environments, including projects, workflows, schemes, custom fields, permissions, security levels, plugins, automations and integrations.
• Analyse differences between Data Center and Cloud, identify compatibility gaps and recommend target-state configurations that prioritise standard capabilities.
• Contribute to migration strategy and execution, including planning, waves, dry runs, cutover and rollback planning.
• Configure and customise workflows, schemes, permissions, screens, fields, dashboards and automation rules.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to turn requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, and plan and run testing and validation after migration.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis and maintain documentation such as runbooks, configuration guidelines and user guides.
• Support change management, including user training, demonstrations and post-migration support.

Required profile

• 4-6 years of experience; full-time position.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work with cross-functional and distributed teams.

Required skills

• Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud administration and configuration.
• Workflows, issue types, permission schemes, security levels, screens, dashboards, filters and JQL.
• Jira automation and Agile methodologies.
• Software testing, test scenarios, validation campaigns and reporting.
• Preferred: migration projects, Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, Jira REST APIs and basic scripting, and Atlassian Marketplace apps.
