ISDA Negotiator

About the role

J&Griff is seeking an experienced ISDA Negotiator to join its Beirut office. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and related credit and collateral documentation, ensuring alignment with the firm’s risk appetite and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, and trade confirmations with counterparties, internal teams, and external counsel.
• Analyze commercial and legal terms, identify key risks, and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate negotiation records and ensure documentation complies with internal policies and market standards.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments affecting derivatives documentation (e.g., EMIR, Dodd‑Frank, margin rules).
• Contribute to updates of templates, playbooks, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
• Provide training and guidance to colleagues on ISDA‑related matters and best practices.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, trade confirmations, and related derivatives documentation.
• Experience in OTC derivatives, capital markets products, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Legal, paralegal, or documentation background, preferably in a law firm, investment bank, or financial institution.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management abilities across front‑office, credit risk, legal, operations, and compliance teams.
• Proven organizational and time‑management capabilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Economics or related field; advanced degree or certifications (LL.M., CFA, FRM) a plus.
• Fluency in English; Arabic and/or French proficiency advantageous.
