Interior Architect – Office Space Assessment & Workplace Optimization

About the role

UNICEF Lebanon is seeking an experienced Interior Architect on a consultancy basis to assess its office premises and develop practical, equitable design solutions. The assignment aims to improve space utilization, enhance staff wellbeing, and ensure a fair distribution of workspace across sections.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site visits of both office floors and the roof to evaluate current layout and usage.
• Identify workplace comfort issues such as acoustics, privacy, lighting, and accessibility.
• Engage with Operations, the Staff Association, section chiefs and other stakeholders to gather functional and wellbeing requirements.
• Develop design options that balance collaboration, privacy, cost‑effectiveness and future organizational needs.
• Incorporate shared wellbeing areas where feasible, e.g., cafeteria, meditation/wellness room, child‑friendly space.
• Deliver a recommended office layout, implementation guidance and a detailed cost estimate for phased rollout.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an interior architect or similar design professional.
• Ability to work independently and provide objective recommendations.
• Strong understanding of workplace ergonomics, space planning and cost‑efficient design.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with multiple internal stakeholders.
