Innovation Officer

About the role

The Innovation Officer will lead the day‑to‑day execution of LAU Engine’s innovation programmes at the Fouad Makhzoumi Innovation Center. Reporting to the Director, the role supports student and alumni entrepreneurs, manages startup cohorts, and coordinates workshops, bootcamps and mentor engagements on the Beirut campus.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver LAU Engine’s innovation programmes, handling scheduling, logistics and speaker recruitment.
• Serve as the primary contact for startups in active cohorts, facilitating mentor access and monitoring milestones.
• Coordinate training sessions, workshops, bootcamps and mentor engagements, including attendance tracking.
• Track programme and startup progress against defined gates, flagging risks to the Director.
• Source, onboard and maintain relationships with mentors, trainers, guest speakers and industry partners.
• Execute outreach and recruitment activities such as info sessions, class visits and pitching events.
• Maintain accurate programme records and trackers (e.g., Airtable) and prepare regular status reports.
• Support the planning and on‑site execution of centre events including demo days and hackathons.
• Assist with budget tracking, invoice processing and grant/report writing as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, entrepreneurship, management or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in programme coordination, operations or entrepreneurship support.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced academic environment.
