Hydrology Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Hydrology Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy in Sin L Fil, Lebanon. The role involves delivering comprehensive hydrological and hydraulic solutions for infrastructure, flood risk management, and water resource projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for infrastructure, flood protection, and water resource management projects.
• Develop, calibrate, and analyze 1D and 2D hydraulic models for drainage systems, wadis, rivers, and floodplains.
• Perform flood risk assessments, watershed analysis, rainfall‑runoff modeling, and stormwater management studies.
• Design and evaluate hydraulic structures such as dams, detention/retention ponds, channels, culverts, bridges, spillways, weirs, and dike systems.
• Assess flood mitigation strategies and optimise drainage network performance.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses and design documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including urban planners, surveyors, geotechnical and utility engineers.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• 5–7 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulic modelling and water resources engineering.
• Proven experience in flood risk assessments, stormwater management, watershed analysis and drainage system design.
• Strong analytical, technical reporting and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Experience on large‑scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
