Health Consultant for Public Health Interventions

About the role

The Health Consultant will support the Public Health Unit (PHU) in implementing, monitoring and quality‑assuring health interventions, including community‑based event surveillance and other health activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute coordination, implementation, monitoring and follow‑up plans for assigned PHU interventions.
• Prepare monthly progress reports summarising implementation status, beneficiary reach, service utilisation and outcomes.
• Maintain coordination records, eligibility verification, case reviews, referrals and continuity of care documentation.
• Consolidate and verify programme data, ensuring quality, completeness and timely reporting.
• Produce monitoring reports on community‑based activities such as health screening, outreach and public health response.
• Create training, orientation and briefing materials for field teams and partners.
• Provide technical inputs to programme planning, tool development, SOPs and guidance notes.
• Deliver a final consultancy report with findings, lessons learned and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Epidemiology, Health Information Systems or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in public health programmes, health system support, disease surveillance or health project coordination.
• Experience with international humanitarian organisations or multi‑cultural settings is an advantage.
• Strong coordination, analytical, communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
