Head Waiter

About the role

Riviera Hospitality is seeking a dedicated Head Waiter to lead the front‑of‑house team at its Tabarja seafood bistro and wine bar. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures every guest receives an elevated dining experience in a relaxed, French‑Riviera inspired setting.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach waitstaff, ensuring consistent service standards.
• Coordinate table service, manage reservations and seating to optimise flow during busy periods.
• Guide guests through the menu and curated wine list, answering questions and recommending pairings.
• Ensure accurate and timely order delivery in collaboration with kitchen and bar teams.
• Address guest concerns promptly and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with a focus on attentive, responsive guest experiences.
• Solid knowledge of food & beverage operations, menu details, and plating standards.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with guests, staff, and management.
• Basic cooking and food‑preparation awareness to describe menu items accurately.
• Previous supervisory or lead‑server experience in a restaurant or bistro.
• Ability to manage peak service periods, prioritize tasks and stay composed in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail regarding cleanliness, presentation and service steps.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
• Knowledge of wine and cocktails is highly beneficial; formal hospitality training is a plus.
