General Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage daily accounting, financial reporting, cash‑flow planning and project costing for a furniture manufacturing workshop in Tripoli.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments with full documentation.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, including invoicing, payment schedules, supplier reconciliation and cash‑based payment planning.
• Prepare payroll calculations, perform cash and account reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies.
• Complete month‑end closing and prepare financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash‑flow statement).
• Develop and update cash‑flow forecasts covering collections, supplier payments, payroll, fixed expenses and project material needs.
• Track project costs, compare actuals against budgets and analyse profitability.
• Coordinate with Operations and Procurement to capture purchasing commitments and upcoming payment requirements.
• Prepare management reports on receivables, payables, cash availability, expenses and project performance.
• Maintain financial controls, verify supporting documents and liaise with external accountants or auditors on tax and statutory matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant accounting experience, including reconciliations, month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Practical experience in cash‑flow forecasting, payment planning and cost analysis.
• Ability to work independently, maintain accuracy and confidentiality, and clearly explain financial results to management.
• Experience in manufacturing or project‑based accounting is preferred.
