French Language Teacher for US Embassy Project in Beirut

About the role

We are seeking a qualified French language teacher to deliver a high‑quality language training program for adult learners associated with the U.S. Embassy in Beirut. The role involves classroom instruction, performance assessment, and the creation of tailored learning plans.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 1‑hour French lessons, typically two hours per week, for adult non‑native speakers.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and design individualized improvement plans.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials that reflect communicative, student‑centered methodologies.
• Incorporate topics relevant to diplomatic work, such as politics, economics, and international relations, when appropriate.
• Maintain attendance records and report on class outcomes.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in French.
• Based in Beirut or nearby.
• Minimum 2 years full‑time or 4 years part‑time experience teaching French as a foreign language.
• Experience teaching adult non‑native speakers is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of French grammar and communicative teaching methods.
• Ability to assess performance, give feedback, and develop personalized plans.
• Familiarity with diplomatic topics is a plus.
• Availability Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
