Freelance Chatbot Developer for WhatsApp, Telegram & Discord

About the role

Mindrift is seeking an experienced freelance Chatbot Developer to join the Tendem project. You will design, build, and maintain conversational bots for platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, and Slack, delivering reliable user experiences for use cases like customer service, booking, and notifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop bots for one or more messaging platforms (WhatsApp Business API/Cloud API, Telegram Bot API, Discord API, Slack).
• Design conversational flows, state management, and fallback handling.
• Integrate large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic) for natural‑language responses.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, CRMs, payment gateways, and other third‑party APIs.
• Handle webhooks, rate‑limits, and platform‑specific message formats (buttons, media, templates).
• Implement logging, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms to keep bots healthy in production.
• Review, debug, optimise, and refactor code for reliability and maintainability.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend, integration, automation, or bot development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
