Food Services Supervisor

About the role

The Food Services Supervisor ensures that the dining area operates smoothly, delivering high‑quality service to guests while leading a team of front‑of‑house staff. This role combines hands‑on supervision, inventory management, and guest interaction to maintain Marriott’s standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate staff to provide optimal guest service.
• Inspect staff grooming, attire, and overall presentation, correcting deficiencies as needed.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup of supplies, equipment cleaning, and securing the premises.
• Maintain organized storage areas, enforce FIFO practices, and ensure cleanliness.
• Conduct regular inventories, stock requisitions, and manage supply levels.
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, safety, and guest well‑being.
• Create and follow work orders for maintenance repairs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and report incidents promptly.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, and provide courteous service, including assistance for individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in food‑service operations.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing for extended periods, and navigating confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
