Firmware Engineer – Embedded Systems

About the role

MLTP is seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer to develop low‑level firmware for microcontrollers and system‑on‑chips. You will work closely with hardware engineers to bring up new boards, implement drivers, and ensure reliable integration across multiple projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and SoCs.
• Perform system bring‑up, board‑level initialization, and hardware‑firmware integration.
• Implement low‑level drivers and communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB, and Ethernet.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional hardware and software teams to define firmware requirements.
• Write modular, efficient, and well‑documented code, and maintain version control.
• Execute unit tests, debug firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in‑circuit debuggers, and resolve issues.
• Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and resource usage.
• Document firmware designs, configuration settings, and version history.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded development.
• Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, and hardware‑firmware integration.
• Knowledge of real‑time operating systems (RTOS) and bare‑metal programming.
• Familiarity with communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet.
• Hands‑on debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in‑circuit debuggers.
• Version control using Git or similar systems.
