Financial Controller

About the role

Petromas, a leading fuel supplier and distributor in Lebanon, is seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to own the numbers, close the books and ensure that physical stock aligns with financial records. Reporting directly to ownership, you will be the key driver of financial accuracy across wholesale distribution and retail stations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and produce the P&L by business line (wholesale distribution and retail stations).
• Control wet stock by reconciling litres purchased, delivered, and held in tanks; investigate and explain all variances.
• Analyse fleet fuel consumption against distance driven and deliver a monthly variance report.
• Reconcile the ERP system against operational records to keep data aligned.
• Report margin per litre by customer, product and station.
• Review supplier invoices and payments against contracted pricing.
• Design and enforce control procedures across depot, fleet and station operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or financial control.
• Background in fuel, distribution, retail or FMCG environments with physical inventory.
• Proven ability to design or improve internal controls.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, variance analysis).
• ERP experience; involvement in an ERP implementation is a strong advantage.
