About the role
The Finance Projects Planning & Development Manager will lead the university’s institutional development initiatives and long‑range financial planning. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, the role is based on the Beirut campus and involves regular interaction with multiple campuses and affiliated entities.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee financial evaluation and development of new academic programs, research centers, auxiliary enterprises and revenue‑generating ventures.
- Prepare business plans, market studies and feasibility analyses, ensuring rigorous financial and operational scrutiny.
- Manage the pipeline of development projects from concept through approval, coordinating cross‑functional teams.
- Develop and maintain a university‑wide project portfolio dashboard tracking status, financial performance and strategic alignment.
- Lead the creation of a 5‑10 year diversified financial plan, integrating revenue forecasts, capital requirements and operating cost assumptions.
- Build comprehensive financial models for scenario planning, stress testing and sensitivity analysis.
- Collaborate with the Budget and Financial Planning Office to align long‑range plans with the annual operating budget.
- Monitor macro‑economic trends, higher‑education policy developments and peer benchmarks to refine planning assumptions.
- Supervise capital planning, validate cost estimates, and analyze major capital investments.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in institutional development, financial planning or management consulting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience leading complex, multi‑stakeholder planning processes and delivering major development projects.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing presentations for executive and board‑level audiences.
- Strong project‑management capabilities and ability to handle multiple concurrent initiatives under tight timelines.
Required skills
- Advanced financial modeling, including long‑range planning models, capital budgeting and scenario analysis.
- Proficiency in preparing business cases, market studies and feasibility analyses.
- Expertise in developing and maintaining project portfolio dashboards.
