Export & Import Junior Specialist

About the role

DHL Global Forwarding is looking for an Export & Import Junior Specialist to join its Ocean Freight team in Beirut. You will support shipment execution, act as the first point of contact for customers, and help ensure that service commitments are met while maintaining profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Administer shipment activities, including booking receipt, documentation, and coordination of local and international transport.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for shipment information, exception handling, complaints, and claims.
• Support routing and assignment, prepare accurate invoices, resolve invoice disputes, and own file profitability.
• Execute regulatory compliance procedures for commodities and destinations.
• Maintain client relationships, identify upsell opportunities, and contribute to customer retention.
• Resolve day‑to‑day delivery issues and propose best‑practice improvements using the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Monitor supplier performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in PDs, Gemba walks, and share improvement ideas.
• Assist with transport order creation, booking optimization, and customs shipment updates.

Required profile

• Junior‑level professional with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Knowledge of customs documentation and regulatory compliance.
