Elementary Teacher Assistant (PYP) – Beirut

About the role

The Elementary School Teacher Assistant (ESTA) supports inquiry‑based learning within the Primary Years Programme (PYP) at Wellspring Learning Community, the first IB Continuum World School in Beirut. Working closely with classroom teachers, the ESTA helps deliver differentiated instruction, fosters a safe and stimulating environment, and prepares students for the transition to the Middle Years Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and delivering PYP inquiry units.
• Provide individualized support to students of diverse abilities and cultural backgrounds.
• Help manage classroom routines, resources, and learning spaces.
• Contribute to formative assessment, feedback, and record‑keeping.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to adapt materials and differentiate instruction.
• Support a respectful, inclusive, and safety‑focused classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
• Passion for educating, caring for, and inspiring young learners.
• Ability to work with mixed‑ability and multicultural student groups.
• Willingness to learn and apply IB PYP principles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of the IB Primary Years Programme framework.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs.
• Organizational skills for classroom management and resource preparation.
