Education Technical Adviser

About the role

The Education Technical Adviser will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of high‑quality education programmes that reach tens of thousands of children across Lebanon. Reporting to the Director of Programme Development and Quality, the role provides technical leadership, strategic planning and partnership development for Save the Children’s education portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out the national education strategy, covering emergency response and nexus programming.
• Provide technical input to country annual plans, area plans, emergency preparedness plans and sector strategies.
• Maintain an overview of programme progress and ensure integration with other sectors.
• Lead fundraising and technical proposal development for education initiatives.
• Forge and manage partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and local civil‑society actors.
• Supervise and support the Education Specialist and field education teams in three locations.
• Oversee quality assurance, technical tool development and a central database of guidance materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience providing technical leadership for large‑scale education programmes.
• Strong ability to develop strategic and operational plans.
• Experience working with government, UN and NGO partners in humanitarian contexts.
• Demonstrated capacity to manage staff and coordinate multi‑location teams.
• Commitment to child safeguarding (Level 3 contact with children).
