Education Technical Adviser

About the role

The Education Technical Adviser will provide senior technical leadership for Save the Children’s education programmes in Lebanon, overseeing design, implementation and monitoring for tens of thousands of children. The role reports to the Director of Programme Development and Quality and works closely with an Education Specialist and field teams across three locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and rollout of Save the Children’s education strategy, covering emergency response and nexus programming.
• Provide technical input to country annual plans, area plans, emergency preparedness plans and sector strategies.
• Maintain an overview of programme progress and ensure integration with other sectors.
• Ensure programme quality through technical expertise, data reliability and outcome tracking.
• Supervise the creation of a technical capacity‑building plan for education staff and local partners.
• Develop and maintain a central database of tools, manuals and guidance to support new programming.
• Lead fundraising needs identification and the development of technical proposals.
• Forge partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and civil‑society organisations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in education programming, preferably in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
• Proven ability to provide strategic leadership and manage technical teams.
• Strong experience in partnership building and fundraising for education projects.
• Excellent analytical skills to monitor programme performance and ensure quality standards.
