Education Technical Adviser

About the role

The Education Technical Adviser will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of Save the Children’s education programmes for tens of thousands of children across Lebanon. Reporting to the Director of Programme Development and Quality, the role provides technical leadership, strategic planning and partnership development to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based education interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out the country education strategy, covering emergency response, nexus programming and cross‑cutting issues.
• Provide technical input to annual, area and emergency preparedness plans, sector strategies and other planning documents.
• Oversee programme quality, ensuring reliable data, outcomes and integration with other sectors.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of a central database of tools, manuals and guidance for education programming.
• Supervise the Education Specialist and support field teams in three locations, including capacity‑building plans for staff and partners.
• Identify fundraising needs, lead technical proposal development and forge partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and civil‑society actors.
• Ensure compliance with child safeguarding Level 3 requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in education programme design and management in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead strategic planning and multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data‑driven programme quality.
• Experience supervising staff and building technical capacity of teams and partners.
• Understanding of child safeguarding standards and procedures.
