Education Technical Adviser

About the role

The Education Technical Adviser will lead Save the Children’s education programmes in Lebanon, overseeing design, implementation and monitoring for tens of thousands of children. The role provides technical leadership, strategic planning and partnership development across government, UN, NGOs and local civil society.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out the education strategy, covering emergency response and nexus programming.
• Provide technical input to country annual plans, area plans, emergency preparedness and sector strategies.
• Maintain oversight of programme progress and ensure integration with other sectors.
• Ensure programme quality, data reliability and outcomes through technical guidance and quality assurance.
• Supervise the creation of a technical capacity‑building plan for education staff and partners.
• Maintain a central database of tools, manuals and guidance to support new programming.
• Lead fundraising identification, technical proposal development and partnership building.
• Directly manage the Education Specialist and collaborate with field teams in three locations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in designing and managing large‑scale education programmes, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and strategic direction.
• Strong partnership and stakeholder management skills with government, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Experience in fundraising, proposal writing and technical reporting.
• Child safeguarding Level 3 clearance and experience working with vulnerable children.
