Economic & Food Security Analyst (SSA 9)

About the role

The Economic & Food Security Analyst (SSA 9) will support the World Food Programme’s efforts in Lebanon by providing rigorous economic and food‑security analysis. The role contributes to evidence‑based programming and policy advice to improve the resilience of vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and interpret economic and market data relevant to food security in Lebanon.
• Prepare analytical reports, briefings and policy recommendations for senior staff and partners.
• Monitor trends in food prices, supply chains and livelihoods, and assess their impact on target communities.
• Support the design and evaluation of food‑assistance programmes using quantitative evidence.
• Collaborate with WFP country teams, UN agencies and local stakeholders to ensure data quality and relevance.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, agricultural economics, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in economic analysis, food‑security assessments or humanitarian programming.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to work with complex datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
