Development of Artificial Intelligence Classification Criteria in Mauritania

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is looking for a qualified consultant to develop Artificial Intelligence classification criteria for Mauritania. The assignment is remote and lasts 16 weeks, culminating in a comprehensive Arabic report that supports sustainable development goals.

Key responsibilities

• Produce a minimum 30‑page technical report in Arabic, including a 2‑3 page executive summary.
• Format the deliverable in MS‑Word with an automatically updated table of contents, list of tables/figures, and full references.
• Ensure all sources are properly cited and provide scanned copies of the first page of each referenced document.
• Maintain plagiarism below 20 % of total pages and comply with ESCWA’s plagiarism‑checking procedures.
• Respect confidentiality; do not disclose, publish, or discuss the report without ESCWA’s explicit permission.
• Analyze AI applications for social and economic development and align recommendations with national criteria and sustainable development objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AI policy, classification frameworks, or related research.
• Familiarity with UN or ESCWA reporting standards and guidelines.
• Ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation in Arabic and English.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
