Deputy Finance Manager

About the role

The Deputy Finance Manager supports the senior finance team by ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, and effective budget management. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining financial compliance and providing technical guidance to finance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure compliance with internal and external policies.
• Review procurement transactions for proper documentation, accuracy, and payment controls.
• Develop and suggest formats for financial reporting to aid decision‑making.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and oversee staff training.
• Prepare budget proposals, coordinate with program, logistics, HR, and monitor monthly pipelines.
• Analyze expenses, recommend budget realignments, and ensure timely implementation of amendments.
• Enter and reconcile data in the TM1 system, update variance analysis, and submit pipeline reports to headquarters.
• Manage preparation of internal and external financial reports, audit schedules, and support audit processes.
• Implement audit recommendations, resolve findings, and assist with fiscal year‑end closures.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Experience supervising finance staff and coordinating multi‑departmental budgets.
• Ability to work closely with senior finance officers and senior management.
• Attention to detail and capacity to ensure compliance with procedural guidelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with TM1 financial planning system.
