Country Finance Manager

About the role

The Country Finance Manager in Lebanon will lead all administrative and accounting processes for WeWorld’s operations, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and internal policies. Reporting to the Country Representative and Regional Finance Manager, the role oversees finance staff and supports program delivery across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and approve regular accounting, monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and closing of accounts.
• Prepare financial reports in coordination with the Regional Finance Manager, ensuring donor compliance.
• Develop, monitor, and update the core budget for the Lebanon operation, providing analysis of gaps and risks.
• Collaborate with program and procurement managers to design project budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Manage grant administration, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with contractual terms.
• Lead audit processes, supervise yearly financial audits, and prepare documentation for donor assessments.
• Design and implement finance procedures to improve efficiency, including budget follow‑ups and payment tracking.
• Support HR and procurement functions, supervise finance staff, and build capacity of local partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance/accounting.
• At least 5 years of finance/administrative experience in international cooperation.
• Knowledge of institutional donor procedures (AICS, EU, AFD, UN).
• Fluent in English (written and verbal); Arabic is an asset.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
