About the role
The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) seeks an experienced consultant to develop a National Safe Internet Guidebook for Jordan. The consultant will produce a comprehensive Arabic report, ensuring compliance with ESCWA’s quality and plagiarism standards.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyse regional cybersecurity policies, ITU Global Cybersecurity Index data, and WEF findings on online risks.
- Draft a guidebook of at least 30 pages in Arabic, including a 2‑4 page executive summary.
- Prepare the document in MS‑Word (.docx) with an automatically updated table of contents, list of tables/figures, and proper citations.
- Submit electronic files to the designated focal point and provide scanned copies of reference material’s first pages.
- Ensure the final deliverable contains less than 20% previously published text and passes ESCWA’s plagiarism checks.
- Maintain confidentiality; do not disclose content without ESCWA and MoDEE permission.
Required profile
- Proven experience in cybersecurity policy, internet safety, or related research.
- Strong ability to write and edit technical documents in Arabic.
- Familiarity with UN or international agency reporting standards.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage citations and source verification.
