Child Protection Officer

About the role

The Child Protection Officer will lead the daily follow‑up of child protection activities, provide support to implementing partners and directly implement field interventions. The role includes expanding psychosocial programmes for children and youth, building capacity of caregivers, and coordinating community initiatives with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead monthly and weekly work plans in collaboration with the CP Coordinator.
• Guide CP Facilitators to ensure clear weekly priorities and provide necessary support.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Finance and HR to secure resources for field activities.
• Conduct needs‑assessment interviews under supervision of the Programme Manager.
• Monitor implementation progress, identify and resolve issues that hinder activities.
• Organise and lead community engagement events such as round‑table discussions, workshops and other outreach activities.
• Ensure compliance with Save the Children policies and Level 3 child safeguarding requirements.
• Perform field visits to verify quality standards and adherence to programme guidelines.
• Produce weekly and monthly quantitative and qualitative reports for internal use.
• Integrate child protection interventions with other core sectors (Education, Shelter, Food Security, Livelihoods).

Required profile

• Proven experience in child protection or related humanitarian programmes.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding standards and Level 3 child safeguarding.
• Ability to work in field settings and adapt to emergency contexts.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Capability to produce clear, data‑driven reports.
• Familiarity with multi‑sectoral programming and stakeholder engagement.
