Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Co-Founder, Early-Stage AI Startup

About the role

We are an early‑stage AI PropTech startup in Lebanon building an intelligence platform that transforms fragmented, unstructured market data into decision‑grade insight. We have a live data pipeline, a brand, and a frontend, and we are now looking for a technical co‑founder to own the architecture and deliver a production‑grade MVP.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall technical strategy and product roadmap.
• Architect and scale a data pipeline that ingests, cleans, and structures large volumes of unstructured data from fragmented sources.
• Own the AI/ML layer, including extraction models, scoring logic and a conversational AI interface.
• Design and maintain backend systems, APIs and databases (PostgreSQL, PostGIS, vector search) at scale.
• Build and harden data sourcing mechanisms – web scraping, browser automation, third‑party APIs and partner feeds.
• Make cloud infrastructure decisions covering architecture, uptime, redundancy, caching, queuing and cost control.
• Establish engineering best practices, security standards and documentation.
• Recruit and lead a lean engineering team as the product grows.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience as a CTO, founding engineer or senior full‑stack/backend engineer who has shipped a product solo or in a small team.
• Strong AI/ML background with experience building or integrating LLM‑based pipelines, extraction/classification models, scoring systems or conversational AI.
• Extensive experience with big data manipulation, cleaning, deduplication, enrichment and pipeline orchestration on messy real‑world datasets.
• Demonstrated expertise in web scraping and browser automation tools for unreliable data sources.
• Solid backend fundamentals, including RESTful API design and relational databases (PostgreSQL) with geospatial or vector extensions.
• Experience designing cloud infrastructure that can scale from day one.
• Founder mentality – moves fast, builds without waiting for perfect specs, and takes ownership.
