Chief Accountant

About the role

Macromed, a leading regional provider of pharmaceutical and para‑pharmaceutical products, is looking for a full‑time, on‑site Chief Accountant. You will be responsible for the integrity of all financial reporting, oversee the general ledger, and provide analysis that supports strategic decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Audit purchase invoices, calculate item costs and update supplier pricing models.
• Review payroll, prepare bank transfers and coordinate with external auditors on salary, tax and social security matters.
• Supervise daily finance and accounting operations, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial and budget execution reports, and ensure proper year‑end and quarterly closings.
• Coordinate external audits, reconcile foreign supplier accounts and conduct annual audit procedures.
• Perform monthly physical inventory counts and provide foreign‑exchange rate information.
• Review internal processes, policies and systems, recommending risk‑mitigation improvements.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing, report preparation and mail correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Fluent communication in Arabic, English and French.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with accounting software.
