Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient daily operations. This position supports the UAE operations of a distribution/consumer electronics business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance.
• Prepare periodic financial reports, weekly cash‑flow statements and monthly payroll in line with IFRS.
• Participate in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting with internal stakeholders.
• Manage account reconciliations, inventory valuation and stock depreciation.
• Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure optimal terms.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors, providing required documentation.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and support implementation of new accounting systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years as a Chief Accountant.
• Previous experience in distribution, consumer electronics, major retail or telecom environments.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, tax regulations and IFRS.
• Hands‑on experience with financial closings, statements preparation and management reporting.
